Exercise of the Month

Each month I will be featuring an exercise/ new move.  It maybe Pilates based, a plyometric move, a balance and stability exercise etc. You get the idea.

Bird Dog Plank

Start in the plank position, feet hip width apart. Your head and spine should be in a straight line, while you raise your right arm out in front of you, and your left leg a few inches off the floor. Hold for 3-5 seconds, keeping body level and stable. Repeat on the opposite side. 8 reps each side. Remember to breathe and keep you abs engaged.

Let me know what you think.

Happiness is a butterfly, which, when pursued, is always just beyond your grasp, but which, if you will sit down quietly, may alight upon you.

We are doing a lot of “advanced” planks in my barre workout classes. I don’t usually “make” myself do planks on my own because they are so hard… But I know how great they are! Great move!

  2. I love Planks. They are great overall strengthner. Glad you like the move.
