Fitness WearAs active people we sometimes have difficulty finding the “perfect” workout apparel. Over the next few weeks I will be featuring athletic wear from various companies. These items can be worn by runners, cyclists, Pilates enthusiasts, walkers etc. First up is ellasport according to their website “At ellasport, we make technical athletic apparel that makes you look and feel amazing”. A Guestpost, Boosting Energy and more….
A few days ago I was invited by a fellow blogger Becky her site Tres Chic Bellevue to share some health and fitness tips with her readers. She descibes herself as a reviewer of all-things-chic. Let me know what you think. We all have days when we are dragging here are a few ideas/tips I have found to be helpful when I lack energy. 1. I will drink 2 ice cold glasses of water. 2. Take a 10-15 walking break. 3. Listen to music. 4. A 20 minute Pilates routine. 5. Deep Breaths 6. Lastly, I will take a “cat nap”. Sometimes all I need is 10-15 minutes. What are your energy boosting tips? If you are a meat eater, how about replacing one meal each day with veggies for 3 weeks? Sitting at a desk all day? How about doing this Desk Routine. I also used it to bake with and you really would not know a sugar substitute was used, my banana bread and muffins were quite delicious. Oh, and it does not leave you bloated or gassy like many artificial sweeteners. A Book Review and Jolers BoxAgeless Pilates Book Review
A few weeks ago Christine Binnendyk sent me her book Ageless Pilates to review. This book is beneficial to everyone, no matter your age. We can all benefit from having this book in our “library”. Christine has laid out the book in such a away that we can make the exercises work for us individually. The book is very descriptive and easy to understand. She has included modifications in each chapter. There are 8 chapters in the book, she has also dedicated a chapter to different ailments, and for example a section in the last chapter is on Arthritis in which she has laid out a 15 minute workout routine that will help in easing arthritis pain. I highly recommend this book not only to Pilates teachers but clients as well. Visit her Website. So you are probably wondering ” What is Jolers Box?”. Well, it is an online store started by my friend where she shops the local markets and brings back accessories and clothing from her travels. The pieces are unique, and original.
